Fashion Illustrations

I wanted to share with you all my love for fashion illustrations and below are three posters that were put together inspired by the end of fashion week. The posters feature three iconic fashion personalites Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington. These below are some of the most eye catching illustrations i have come across, with each poster the icon has been portrayed very well and although none of them have a face. I am sure all of you can imagine the look/expression on each of their faces.

Here is another article on the posters by Gossip Fever, What do you think of the posters? Leigh xo

Guest post sunday - Unwritten Hollywood

Today we have a guest post from the fabulous Chloe from Unwritten Hollywood. She is one of my favourite fashion bloggers you can find here on my sidebar. She has her own style and doesn't necessarily stick to trends which is why i love reading her blog to get inspiration for myself! Go over and check her out!

Describe Unwritten Hollywood?
I got my name from my favourite song (Natasha Beddingfield – unwritten) along with my favourite place, and I guess it’s just worked out? I’m a student from a little old town called Telford, I’m studying fashion and photography along with English. I would describe my blog as mainly fashion however I throw the odd beauty related post in the mix from time to time! I like to write about cheap alternatives, and ways to wear items so many times with a range of looks! My style is always wearable I want my readers to be able to click on my blog, and know they can pull off the look no matter their shape, size or style.
What is your staple piece at the moment?
I’m just loving my kimono! Definitely a great piece for this S/S!

Where do you get your inspiration from when it comes to your style?
Before I always strayed to magazines etc, but now I just look to fellow bloggers for inspirations, or even just create my own trend!

Dr Organic - Organic Virgin Coconut Oil.

Dr Organic - Organic virgin coconut oil, Monai moisture melt body oil (now thats a mouthful).

I suffer with really bad dry skin and eczema, it gets me so down especially when i get it on the face. After seeing doctors about it they always prescribe me with steroid cream and if any of you suffer with eczema you will know how bad this is and really thins out the skin. I wanted something natural to cure my eczema so after spending time researching i found out that apparently coconut oil works and that is when me and the above product met. This has literally been my holy grail product i purchased this around 4 months ago and have just under half left. You can buy this particular one from Holland & Barrett for around £9.00 or you can always order something similar on the net.

If you have been into HB you will know that they have like a whole section just on coconut oil like day creams, night creams, lip balm, shampoo, conditioner etc etc (the list goes on) I brought the Monai moisture melt body oil mainly for an all rounder because i get dry skin all over my body but it needed to be sensitive enough for my face.

I love the packaging also it makes it look extremely expensive and luxurious in a glass bottle. It comes in solid form which needs to be melted you can do this by putting it in a bowl of hot water, if i am having a bath i just pop it in there. Once i have had a bath/shower and the substance has melted down i apply a small amount into the dry/eczema areas do this for 3 nights running and my eczema has nearly gone! You could even add a few capfuls into the bath if your an oil kinda person instead of a bubble bath type, which makes your skin feel divine afterwards

This isn't just a product for people with dry skin though, you can use this product as a hair mask for dry dry hair and also to soak you nails into it. Although this product isn't edible, but if you just buy standard coconut oil you will have many more uses

Here are the benefits from using coconut oil if you manage to grab some:

1) Taken supplementally for daily energy.
2) Rubbed on lips as a natural chap stick
3) As an eye-makeup remover
4) A tiny dab rubbed on your hands and then through hair will help get rid of frizz
5) As an incredibly intensive natural conditioner- Rub into dry hair, put a shower cap on and leave for several hours.
Read the rest of the uses HERE

Have you used coconut oil before in any other way other than cooking? Let me know below, This product has been my all time favourite and i will definitely be repurchasing.  Leigh xo

Sunnier Days

WHAT IM WEARING: Top/ASOS Skirt/Primark Blouse/F&F Boots/Asos Necklace/Vintage

Hello guys! It felt like we had sun for the first time today which was great so i decided to wear a summery skirt. I actually brought this skirt last summer for a wedding and haven't yet fetched it out of my wardrobe until today. I paired it with my crop top from ASOS and put tights on for warmth as it isn't quite spring yet! For some reason i never wear skirts in the daytime unless its a special occasion i always find them too dressy and i am more of a laid back kinda gal, maybe i should start wearing them more?.

P.S i have a new background to shoot in front of, i brought a clothing rail from Ikea on saturday and silly me never thought about it not fitting in the alcove in my room, so here we are with it behind me.

Ripped Jeans

WHAT IM WEARING: Jacket/F&F Top/Matalan Leggings/Primark&DIY Boots/ASOS Watch/Camden Market Bracelets/Asos Earrings/Asos

Today has been quite relaxed, I have been writing away in my journal of new blog posts to write about excluding outfit posts of corse. The outfit i wore is so relaxed and gives off that thrown together look. Which i have started calling the stylish hobo. I was digging through my clothes to see what i have hiding away and i spotted these very old acid wash leggings i brought from Primark. They already had wear and tear to the knees so i decided to cut out some holes and use my mums trusty cheese grater to fray the edges. Its a real good way to re fall in love with a pair of old trousers. What do you think?

In one of the images you can see a seek peek of my new tattoo, i wont show you an image until it is completely finished. I think it makes me look a tad manly lol!

P.S The winner of the Real Techniques giveaway is Natasha M, I have emailed you so check your inbox! & congratulations :)  Leigh xo

Cirque Du Soleil Worlds Away

I received two China Glaze nail polishes last week C/O Mel @CCDPR and thought it would be cool to  review them for you, having never owned anything from that brand before. These are both from the Cirque Du Soleil Worlds Away collection which came out at the end of last year. (a little bit late for a review i know).

I tried to capture Surreal Appeal in its true form but the colours seem to have lost the slight peachy tone the polish has during upload unfortunately. You can see more of the colour whilst in the bottle on the first picture. I was really pleased with this colour when it came through the post and couldn't wait to get  paint it on my fakes before i applied them. The consistency is quite thick and one coat is all it took to make it opaque like above. Im not usually into pinks when it comes to nail varnish but can you imagine how insane that colour would look with a tan in the summer! A great find i must admit :)

The next colour is Whirled Away, i again was really excited to try this out but unfortunately it has led me to disappointment. I own various glitter shaped nail varnishes and have never experienced such effort when applying like Whirled Away. The glitter shapes were clumped together and i found myself digging through the polish to get some of those lovely big white hexagonal shapes out, as you can tell from the pictures above i didn't do too well. The consitency is very thick and if i had say two coats of a regular nail varnish, two coats of Whirled Away and also a top coat i would find that the layers would just peel away. If you have the time this could be a fantastic polish for you, plus it looks magical just on its own. Its just not for me unfortunately! Leigh xo

Guest post sunday - Elegant Chaos

Today we have a fellow shropshire blogger called Lindsey from Elegant Chaos who kindly took the time to share with us one of her recent outfits and answer some questions. I hope you enjoy the read.

My name is Lindsey and I'm a 20 year old photography student from Shropshire who longs for a life in London. When I'm not photographing for my blog or degree I am working part time at H&M or spending precious time with my family.

Describe Elegant Chaos?
Elegant Chaos is my blog that I basically started to showcase my outfits and university work. I chose the name because although I always like to look my very best and elegant, I'm very chaotic and scatty. The blog is slowly taking more of a personal turn, to document my life and all the things I get up to, along with the odd fashion and beauty post.

What is your staple clothing/accessory this season and why?
I'd definitely have to say my little cult heeled boots. They look great with everything and as it warms up I'll wearing them with bare legs and frilly socks to toughen up any feminine outfit.

Where do you get most of your inspiration from when it comes to style?
Other fashion bloggers are my main inspiration. I read fashion blogs religiously before I started my own and it had a big influence on my style. I think now I've built up enough of a wardrobe and worked within retail long enough to know what I like and what suits me. As much as I'd love to wear disco pants or peplum tops, they just don't look good on me and I accept that.

Don't forget to check out Lindsey's Blog Here before you leave this post. If you would like to take part in the "guest post sunday'  feature please email me on obviousleigh@gmail.com. Thanks for reading Leigh xo

I should probably start investing in some more jackets, but its coming up to spring so there wouldn't be much point right?

I have had this necklace for some time now. I like to keep things simple when wearing it as i feel it could look a little bit chav like? what do you make of the necklace? Let me know. I hope you all have had a fantastic day Leigh xo
