GlossyBox Birthday Edition

NOBLE ISLAND SUMMER RISING BATH & SHOWER GEL, LOLITA LEMPICKA L'EAU EN BLANC % SI LOLITA, WELEDA FACE CREAM/BODY MILK, UNIQONE ALL IN OE HAIR TREATMENT, LET'S GO LASHES, GLOSSYBOX BALLOON AND A GLOSSYBOX COMPACT MIRROR.

I am probably certain you have already read what was received in the GlossyBoxes this month, so i don't want to bore you with an in-depth written piece on each item. unfortunately i unsubbed from GlossyBoxs and i will explain below, but first a quick review over the products i received.

The Good
The first two products are fairly decent,  i got an all in one hair treatment it claims it is the first leave-on mask on the market to offer your hair the 10 main benefits that the hair needs. I can't say I've tried it yet but i will give it ago as i like to use new hair products. The other product is a set of eyelashes from Let's Go Lashes, i am unsure to whether i like these or not yes they are a full size product and yes they have a natural look to them but i really don't wear fake lashes at all so it seems pointless, nether the less i will probably give them to some who is in dyer need of lashes!

The Bad
So i received Yet again another shower gel, just like every other GB i have ever had, the whole beauty profile you fill out at when you subscribe is useless if they don't stick to it!. i even emailed the GB team around 2 months ago complaining that i had received yet another shower gel when i specifically put in my beauty profile no skin care products. They said they can't pick what items go into every box based on the beauty profile. (so whats the point in it). Next up is a face cream the full price for this product is ranged at £10.95 - i thought these products were meant to be luxury?

And The Ugly
Argh the perfume samples... need i say more? They smell nice but oh my god I've paid £12.95 for two perfume samples that i could of got free if i went to my local department store!

The reasons behind my decision to unsubscribing

If you have read from my previous posts you would of seen me go from really excited about the first box to slowly wanting to unsubscribe for a while. It just seems to me that they give all the best products to the ambassadors who get the boxes free anyways. I know this is an easy way to market the boxes but i am forever let down when i see an ambassador open their box with amazing products and when mine arrives i'm left with nothing to rave about. Although i really liked last months box.

The beauty profiles should be taken off too seeing as GB don't even look at everyones preferences. I no longer can justify spending £12.95 for a box that constantly lets me down. Although i will probably feel left out when the next one arrives and knowing my look it will be the most amazing box ever. I would rather spend the spare money on a beauty product i really want instead.

WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS?
HAVE YOU UNSUBBED?

Primark Beauty - Nail Polish

This is the first time i have ever dabbled in the Primark beauty section but its because i am just not that keen on buying makeup from clothing shops, simple as. I brought this set of nail varnishes for the candy green and the cornflower blue colour. Although I'm not keen on the bright pink, i really do think the other three really compliment each other so for four nail varnishes you can't complain for £2!

As i said they were £2 so you pay for what you get. In the picture above i have only applied one coat on which you can tell this is so you the reader can see the quality of the paint. The blue and green colour definitely need another coat on, but the pinks seem to look fine with the one coat. I am pleased that the colours are true to the colour in the container.. Its a real pet hate of mine when the colour looks different on your nails out of the container. The first day of wearing the blue nail varnish was fine but come the second day they started to chip therefore i was re-painting. For the price i am not really bothered that they chipped and i really like two of the colours, so i really am not complaining!

Have you tried any of the Primark Beauty section?
If so, What do you recommend?

Face & Body Foundation

So i recently purchased this alongside my Sail La Vie lipstick, i initially wasn't going to buy it because i have terrible trouble with foundations either there too drying, irritant etc etc. i have heard good things about this foundation that its perfect for dry and sensitive skin so i thought i would give it ago. Usually i find that foundations on my skin are fine for about a week and then things just start to go wrong, so i have used this for two weeks to give a better opinion. I brought this in C3 and in other foundations i am a NW25, i think that face and body foundations have a more yellow undertone which is perfect for me as i am an NW. So heres the verdict.

About the product:
- Water based liquid foundation
- Sheer coverage
- Long lasting
- Fragranced

Being a water based foundation it is great for hydrating dry skin and also its great for combo/oily skin as it  moisturises without upsetting your PH balance on your skin. It is a sheer coverage which is also a bonus for me as my skin needs to breath but it is buildable; the more you work it into the skin the more thicker the substance gets. The reason why it's called Face & Body but also makeup artists use it for the body as it eventually turns into a paste the longer you work at it (better coverage). Although i said it was sheer it lasts all day, this is the one foundation i don't feel the need to wear power on top. After buying the foundation i then applied and found out it was fragranced (me and fragranced products do not go well together) but not to worry there was surprisingly no irritation. So its a WIN WIN WIN WIN situation!

The substance is very watery so i wouldnt recommend using any sort of makeup sponge to apply but i have found that a stipple brush does this foundation justice as you can really work it into the skin but also the stippling creates a even more natural and flawless finish.

Being the second week i have used this foundation i have no qualms in saying that this is going to be a favourite of mine for a long while. No dryness or crusty looking skin and no irritation. Although the product is slightly higher priced than other MAC foundations (possibly due to the fact you get a lot more product) i definitely recommend this to everyone!

Sail La Vie

SAIL LA VIE - MAC

I was so excited when this arrived in my post! I must say i am a sucker when it comes to MAC Limited Edition Collections. Ive been wanting an orangey red lipstick for ages now so i can add it to my summer makeup list and then i saw this beaut! From the Oi Oi Sailor collection at MAC there are another 3 in the lipstick range but this is by far my favourite. It really compliments my skin tone plus it is really long lasting as far as bright lipsticks go! I wore this lipstick in my last outfit of the day (HERE) and i received so many compliments for it (although my boyfriend finds it a bit garish). I really do love my bright reds, if i had to pick a lipstick that sums up summer - This would be it! Also a bonus to how super beautiful the packaging is, i am a sucker for a good package!

Whats your statement lipstick this summer?

I have been busy all of last week, i got the chance to go to Kerrang radio station learning about what goes on behind the background - it was a really interesting experience. I am also slowly getting organised trying to balance my internship, uni and also looking after Ewan, so my time is sparred unfortunately. On a plus side to everything i have also started up at Aquafit.. maybe loose a pounds off that baby weight. i hope you all enjoy your bank holiday off!
